Vanessa Dimond
I was born in Rockford, Illinois in 1967 and lived primarily in the Chicago area, save brief times in New York and North Carolina. I began university in 1984 at the University of Wisconsin, but spent my second year at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. I graduated back in Wisconsin with a major in international relations and a minor in economics.

I moved to Taos in 1989 by accident while just visiting during my spring break. I met my husband, Ted, at the Taos Inn and instantly had a family as I became stepmother to then 5-year-old Risa and 7-year-old Corey. Together, Ted and I had Erica, now 14, and Claudia, now 6.

Taos has taken me very much by surprise. I spent the first couple of years not imagining how I could acclimate and live in this small community after coming from Chicago. Now I am unable to imagine living elsewhere. The community Taos has provided for me and my family is invaluable and irreplaceable.

My interests, not in order of preference, are skiing, tennis, travel, cooking, and reading, as I am a bit of an insomniac.

I began my career in the mortgage industry 11 years ago in the support position of loan processor, and have worked through all the others, including management and loan officer. I enjoy the ever-changing aspect of this industry - whatever happens on a Monday could be negated by that Friday. Solving problematic or challenging situations are my favorite part of my work. I hope I will have the opportunity to help you with your mortgage needs.
